@msbolan He may have been on the mark, but if Tony isn’t careful he might find himself in the same situation being that he decided to strike it on his own like DW did. DW was with Hendrick when he made that decision. TS was with JGR. Besides, that old fart in the booth has 84 wins, 390 Top 10, 59 poles, 3 championshps, 5 600s, a Daytona 500, career grand slam, and is in three motorsports Hall of Fames. I think he has more than earned the right to say what he wants to.

I remember watching this interview, and I will *NEVER* forget the look on Darrell’s face when Tony said that. They way his stupid smirk disappeared, then he dropped his head for a second… Ol’ DW KNEW that Tony was right on the mark with that ‘Past Champion’s Provisional’ comment. I wish this video was captured in better quality so people could see Darrell’s face.

I feel where Tony is coming from but that was a low blow to slam Daryl about the provisional grids. Commentators in all action sports play to the fans and hype the drama, it is part of what makes a broadcast exciting, hell, the WWF has created an entire SPORT out of hype, it’s part of the business and I think these guys (Daryl, Larry, and Mike) are the best IN the business. Just my opinion.
